Kristina Hunter

Kristina, the owner and principal photographer at Fresca Photo, has been behind a camera since her teen years. In 2008 she began a freelance photography business under her maiden name, Kristina Hopper Photography & Design, in Washington DC, and worked with families as well as business clients such as the Bank of America, The Sierra Club, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the American Marketing Association.

In the summer of 2011 she relocated to the greater Boston area and renamed the full-time boutique company to Fresca Photo. Three years (and one sweet new son) later her family moved back to Virginia.

In her words

“I’ve had a love for everyday beauty since I was a little girl. I come from a large family of artists – oil painters, art teachers, photography instructors, potters, jewelry-makers. My father introduced me to my first camera when I was twelve, and little did I know how far it would take me! After earning an English Literature degree, then starting a career in marketing and graphic design I decided to transform my budding photography hobby into a full-blown business and have loved every minute.

What differentiates me from other photographers? Take a look at my photos and you will see that my goal is to show the best, most beautiful side of you, your family, or your business – not to simply snap as many pictures as I can. I take special care during the editing process to make your photographs into personal artworks you can cherish and share forever.

As an artist I incorporate my vast experience and understanding of design into my photographs, prints, greeting cards, business flyers and birth announcements. Customization is very important to my work – because no person, family or business is the same; your portraits shouldn’t be either! I welcome the chance to meet and learn all about you and hope I can help capture and share the moments you live for.”
